Work is fun
What is it about the younger children that makes them some of the most willing helpers? In our house, it seems my three year old responds with a “Oh, yes, Mom!” when I ask her to do something (as if I just asked her to go to the amusement park!) that would make the older children cringe. She shines with a sparkle in her eyes and takes pride in the smallest jobs, (even dumping the garbage). Cheerfulness is important in a large family, and sadness can spread like the plague. Like our dog, Snoop, who loves everyone and is always happy, sometimes the smallest have the greatest lesson to teach.
