Claiming it “mine”
My kids have a way of outsmarting each other to the best treats and eats in the house. Never be late to the dinner table, or you just might end up with liver and onions! It’s either that, or a licked cookie. What?! you might ask… a licked cookie? Yes, or that mouthwatering “middle” piece of yummy pizza with extra cheese that everyone else wanted…or that chocolate chip muffin that was perfect looking. All of these items have been “claimed” by licking them in the past week by one of my kids. And afer the item has been licked and claimed, the lucky “owner” can leave the table relaxed, knowing that no one would want something with their disgusting saliva already on it. They can run upstairs to get the favorite book they forgot to bring to the dinner table without a “Don’t touch my cookie!” warning to the younger sibling.
Claiming by licking is definitely effective.
It never ceases to amaze me what they come up with in order to get what they want.
