Kiddieland Amusement Park to close
We just spent a day at Kiddieland. How sad that this treasured amusement park is set to close by the end of this month. The reason for the closing is said to be a family dispute. Families have their problems, but we wish this family could work things out. Compared to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee (@ $54/adult, $35/child plus $15 parking), Kiddieland is a bargain (@$23/ticket, free park) and a much more “family-friendly” atmosphere. Does the land trust really think that land is worth something better? With strip-mall mania just down the street in Melrose Park, and too many unoccupied condos to list, it seems this is a no-brainer. We’ll miss you Kiddieland!
