Welcome to the Nickopedia

This web site is a central location for my various academic talks, assorted articles, presentations and publications.  I have organized them into the five categories which appear on the menu above.

What I said or wrote seemed correct to me at the time and helpful to the particular intended audience.  I can, at times, forget that there are really people of good will behind ideas that I believe are mistaken.  If you find yourself on the "other side" of one argument or another in my papers, please know that when I am doing my best thinking I make it clear that it is ideas, not individuals, that I am criticizing.

In giving a talk or writing an article, like anyone, I hope I am helping someone. At least I hope to be useful. Sometimes the easiest way to be useful is to say something that a particular group may not hear frequently or even like hearing. (Another way to be useful is to say something really insightful or wise, but I find doing that more difficult.) The net result over time, however, can be a kind of intellectual incoherence. I am hoping that by placing all of this material in one location I will be forced to think more clearly and consistently.

With the exception of my best friend Snoop, with whom I share a similar level of understanding and outlook on life, the views expressed on this website and in my various publications do not necessarily reflect the opinions of anyone else, including, my spouse, my children, or my employer. If you would like to share your thoughts with me on anything you read here, just drop me an e-mail at nicholas@lundmolfese.com
